This is Page Title (H1)

This is an H2 heading

(H2 is only usually used if there’s a major subheading e.g. strapline on Home Page body – it is used to supplement a rather terse page title, and often skipped, even tho useful for SEO!)

This is a ‘standfirst’ – if set up, it’s an optional larger font introductory text below heading, which is non-standard in WordPress, but easy enough to create with a CSS class – BUT until the class is created, it’ll look the same as standard text.

Standard text formatting looks like this, including bold text and italic text and linked text. Note that this page uses the default page template which may have a sidebar – if so, that’s useful to see how the widget titles and things are formatted too 🙂

Then for subdividing the page content…

This is an H3 heading

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Suspendisse placerat bibendum varius. Pellentesque lorem turpis, porta lacinia tincidunt ut, eleifend non lacus.

This is an H4 heading

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Suspendisse placerat bibendum varius. Pellentesque lorem turpis, porta lacinia tincidunt ut, eleifend non lacus.

This is an H5 heading

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Suspendisse placerat bibendum varius. Pellentesque lorem turpis, porta lacinia tincidunt ut, eleifend non lacus.

This is an H6 heading

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Suspendisse placerat bibendum varius. Pellentesque lorem turpis, porta lacinia tincidunt ut, eleifend non lacus.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Suspendisse placerat bibendum varius. Pellentesque lorem turpis, porta lacinia tincidunt ut, eleifend non lacus.

  • bulleted list item 1
  • bulleted list item 2
  • bulleted list item 3
  1. numbered list item 1
  2. numbered list item 2
  3. numbered list item 3

This is a blockquote, as it would appear in the page body – it’s also used by the Testimonials plugin, but it’s easy to format those differently too, so no worries if you want to format testimonials and embedded quotations differently.
– Terry Pratchett (this is the credit, not formatted differently by default)
